A Century of Global Leadership
Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a worldwide network of young leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers. Founded in 1915 in St. Louis, Missouri, JCI has grown from a local initiative into a global movement with more than 200,000 members across 115 countries. Its mission is simple yet powerful: to develop leadership, foster business connections, and drive positive change in society.
JCI in Thailand
The JCI movement reached Thailand in 1953, when Mr. Ramin Lamsam and Major General Anan Phibunsongkhram brought together 20 pioneering businessmen and government officers to establish the country’s first Jaycees chapter. That same year, Thailand was formally recognized at the JCI World Congress in San Francisco. Today, JCI Thailand continues to play an active role in cultivating leadership and community development, carrying forward more than seven decades of history.
The Four Pillars of JCI
Every JCI chapter around the world works within four guiding pillars:
- Business Networking: Building connections that create opportunities for growth and collaboration.
- International Cooperation: Strengthening global understanding through partnerships and exchanges across cultures.
- Leadership Development: Training and equipping young people to become confident leaders in business and community life.
- Community Impact: Designing and implementing projects that address real social challenges and promote sustainability.
These pillars ensure JCI members are not only developing themselves but also contributing meaningfully to their communities and to international cooperation.
Why Join JCI?
For members aged 18 to 40, JCI offers opportunities that extend far beyond traditional networking. Regular training sessions give members the chance to practice leadership and strengthen skills across multiple business disciplines. International conferences and exchanges connect young professionals from more than 120 countries, opening the door to friendships and collaborations that last a lifetime.
Equally important is the opportunity to give back. JCI members volunteer in projects that directly improve society, addressing pressing issues and driving sustainable change in local communities. The experience combines personal growth with social impact, creating well-rounded leaders who are prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
A Platform for the Next Generation
JCI is more than an association; it is a platform where young people learn by doing, develop confidence through action, and make a measurable difference in society. For aspiring leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in Thailand and beyond, JCI provides the community and the tools to grow, connect, and create impact.
